It matters to us that our guests really enjoy their holiday to the full and we can offer a few extras on top of just booking accomodation, that will hopefully help to make your vacation more relaxing.

We appreciate that some times our guests have long journeys in order to reach Madeira and may have a late arrival or a very early departure and do no want to cater for themselves. Even though the apartment is self catering, we have provided an optional extra service, so that our guests can really relax and enjoy their vacation. Below is a sample of our menu and prices.

 

Breakfast

 

This can be served in our dining room, in the apartment, under the Gazebo or out on the Miradouro. Breakfast is served between 8am and 10am. The breakfast is booked by the day either at time of booking the accomodation or on arrival as we do need to know at least one day in advance. (A guest may want to remain self catering thoughout their stay, but have an early departure at the end of their stay and may want to book the breakfast as a good start toward a day of travelling)!

 

• Tea and Coffee (selection of herbal teas, freshly ground coffee or instant)
• Bread rolls, butter, jam & marmalade
• Fresh fruit (in season)
• Cheese and Ham slices
• Boiled or scrambled eggs or Sam's special recipe of Corn Beef Hash.

Evening meal

 

Sometimes our guests are out all day walking or touring the island and really do not feel in the mood for cooking for themselves or eating out. An evening meal can be pre-booked in advance and can be delivered to your apartment or eaten as mentioned above in the breakfast section. For those who don't want to be governed by a meal time can have the option of a meal prepared, but packaged so that when they are ready to eat, can heat it themselves using the facilities in the apartment. We have a selection of meals to choose from and are happy to broaden our menu if a guest has a special request.

 

Starters (choose one per couple)

 

• Tomatoe and Onion Soup (Madeiran style - with/without egg)
• Melon with Parma Ham
• Garlic mushrooms with onions and Chourico
• Avocado and prawns (only when in season)
• Mozzarella and ham rolls with Olives
• Garlic bread (bolo do Caco or crusty rolls)

Main Course (choose one per couple)

• Karahi Chicken with infused rice, homemade naan bread and mango chutney.

(Lightly spiced aromatic chunks of chicken breast, slowly cooked with onions and spices. Can be made mild or hot to suit).

• Lemon & Ginger chicken with vegetable noodle stir fry and side salad

(Lighty spiced breast of chicken stir fried with lemon and Ginger, served on a bed of vegetable noodles or boiled rice if preferred, accompanied with a side salad of lettuce, onion, cucumber and tomatoe. Homemade salad dressing or mayonaise served seperately).

• Mexican Chile with boiled rice, homemade tortilla and tomatoe salsa or guacamole (when avocados are in season).
• Spaggetti Bolognese with Parmesan and tomatoe side salad, Madeira bread and butter.
• Roast chicken with Roast Potatoes, vegetables in season and gravy
• Spare ribs with garlic mash and hot tomatoe and mozzarella salad

Desserts

• Fresh fruit platter (fruits in season)
• Chocolate mousse
• Cointreau Banana melts with cream

€30 per couple - please note: that selections from the menu are one of each from the menu as it is not possible for us to cater seperate meals for two guests. Beverages are not included but can be supplied for a small charge.

 

All our meals are freshly prepared and cooked prior to serving at an agreed time with our guests. Where ever possible we use fresh ingredients either grown on the property or obtained locally.

 

Housekeeping

 

With booking our self contained apartment, linen and towel change is included on a weekly basis in the price of the booking. Daily maid service is not included but can be arranged if required for a small charge. Daily Maid service consists of general tidy of living and sleeping area, light bathroom, shower and kitchen clean, hoovering and bed making. This needs to be requested at time of booking and will attract a surcharge or €25 per week.

 

Welcome/Grocery pack

 

This can be a handy option, particularly if you are a late arrival or have a long journey and just want to relax when you get here. We can supply you with a basic needs grocery pack, so that you can settle in at your leisure without having to rush off and hit the supermarket until you're well rested.  You may prefer to book a meal as well (menu above) but would like to make your self a snack in the mean time. Our grocery pack costs €35 and mainly consists of the following;

• Bread (sliced loaf)
• Butter
• Cheese & Ham
• 6 eggs
• Carton of Milk
• Jar of Coffee
• Box of black tea
• Pack of Madeiran style biscuits
• Bottle of Red Wine
• Bottle of White wine
• 1/2 bottle of Madeira wine
• Bottle of still water
• Packet of concentrated juice powder
• Bowl of fruit

These items will be ready in the apartment for when you arrive.

 

Extra Person/extra bed

 

We can accomodate a third person although the apartment has been designed comfortably for tw people and our fixtures and fittings are designed for this. If a third person is included in your booking a surcharge of €10 per night will needed to be added to the total cost when booking the accomodation. Please note that sleeping arrangements will not be private as the apartment is of open plan design. For a third person we put in a Single bed and will change the interior layout slightly. In the apartment we have already provided a screen which can be used to screen the sleeping area from the extra bed.
