About Madeira

Madeira is a small Portuguese island set off the coast of Africa (nearest neighbour, Morroco). It's an ideal all year round destination due to its mild and temporate climate, fertile soils and geographical layout. This island is an exciting destination to explore and is a nature lovers paradise. Known as the 'Floating Garden of Eden' or the 'Pearl of the Atlantic', Madeira is simply an island that must be visited!

The island boasts some of nature's most fantastic and dramatic unspoilt scenery, and is also part of Unesco's World Heritage site. It is abundant in flora and fauna, mountain and forest walks, sea and marine life, with Dolphins and Whales and many other cretaceans to be seen.
Madeira has a neighbouring island called 'Porto Santo', that is much smaller than it's sister and is well known for its long and naturally sandy beach.
